Measure air pollution yourself

This website aims to raise awareness on air pollution, by helping you measure, map and compare the concentration of airborn particles in your environment.

A problem, that concerns us all...

Defined as the contamination of indoor and outdoor environments by harmful substances, air pollution poses a critical threat to public health and well-being. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 99% of the global population in 2019 lived in areas where air quality failed to meet WHO guideline levels. This exposure to pollutants such as particulate matter, carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide—emitted from sources like household combustion, motor vehicles, industrial activities, and forest fires—has been linked to severe health outcomes. These include respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular diseases, and cancers, contributing to an estimated 6.7 million premature deaths annually, with 89% of these deaths occurring in low- and middle-income countries.
